The Simple Answer To Your Question ?Does Fruit Make You Fat??

For many people, their first impulse when they feel sluggish in the afternoon is to drink a cup of coffee or to reach for an energy drink. The problem here is that these stimulants increase adrenaline and cortisol levels in your body which can be physically taxing. If you feel the need to perk up, a better idea would be to go for raw foods like vegetables and fruits as they offer nutrients, minerals, fiber and more.

But what hinders us from adding fruits is the question ?does fruit make you fat?? It's true that fruits contain rich sugar content which is associated with different types of diseases and health conditions such as diabetes and obesity.

It's really a tricky question to answer. But in order to answer this question properly, you have to understand what types of sugar does fruit contains and what's their purpose. Fruits are rich in two types of sugar: glucose and fructose. Glucose is the type of sugar that is consumed by the body immediately. It's the source of energy that the body uses.

On the contrary, fructose is consumed in different way. Rather than being consumed immediately, fructose should be converted first before the body can use it. The problem with fructose is that if there's an increased supply of fructose in the body, the excess is converted to triglycerides which are associated with excess body weight.

So does that mean that you have to pass up on fruits and miss the benefits they give to the body? The answer would be no. Keep in mind that the presence of fructose can be seen as a negative only when you have excess supplies of it. One great strategy to help you reap the benefits of adding fruits to your diet while keeping excess fructose at bay is to avoid the intake of fruits in juice form.

When consuming fruit juices, you are taking the fibers out of the equation. Fibers are good for aiding digestion, act as a buffer and delay the entry of fructose into your body. This means that when taking too much fruit juices, you're increasing the intake of fructose without fibers to prevent build-up. So rather than juicing the fruits, it's far better to ingest fresh foods such as fruits and veggies in their original form. Fructose is not a huge problem for as long as you don't take in too much. Add fresh fruits and veggies into your diet and reap the benefits that these fruits are giving to achieve better and healthier you.
